Artist statement

My greatest joy is capturing the inspiration I experience in the beauty of creation and the Presence of God in visual form.  I delight in doing a quick sketch – pencil or pen – or a small simple watercolour – on site, indoors or out, when the visual image begins to form in my mind.  These spontaneous works inspire me to begin work on canvas using acrylics – a process that evolves over time, with layering and expanding the image that I began with.  These paintings are often abstract impressions of the spiritual realm, portraying a spiritual message.  My paintings also include florals and landscapes.

Vibrant colours and bold lines define many of my works – all meant to convey the mystery, beauty and love of God.

Growing up in Toronto, I completed medical school, married, raised four children and practiced community medicine in the Ontario public health system.  I explored painting with oils and acrylics during this time, and after retirement, pursued the visual arts, encouraged through my association with a group of Christian artists.

Several years ago, I participated in a major creative arts conference in the Toronto area, taking responsibility for the gallery which featured artists from Ontario and Quebec, and am now on the leadership team of a newly formed Christian artists’ group.  I am spending increasing time in my studio in the beautiful Haliburton Highlands and am connecting in that area with other artists in various expressions of the creative arts.  I also travel frequently to the Ottawa Valley to join close artist friends. As well, I have painted on location in Ontario, Quebec and Alberta, as well as in Italy and Israel, often together with other artists.

Residing with my husband Ted in Toronto and Haliburton, I enjoy spending time with our four children and nine grandchildren.

Glory Explosion

We are in a season of God’s glory and light being released over the earth. It is his pure light that brings forth revelation in his people so that they will shine like stars overcoming the darkness. They will dance exuberantly with joy and shine brilliantly with all the colours of the spectrum.

Glory to Glory

Divine patterns are coming from heaven to earth. We will perceive them with our eyes and we will sense their movement. Threads of God’s DNA are being woven into his people and we are being increasingly changed to a new creation. As we increase in our likeness to him and in his glory, we will be agents of transformation on this earth. What joy!!!

Tree of Life

As the return of Jesus draws near, the consuming Fire of God falls on us, purifying us and burning away all dross to make us a spotless and pure Bride ready for him. This is a sanctifying process we must submit to. As the fire burns, we choose to be submerged in the River of God, being filled with the Holy Spirit and becoming more and more like Jesus. We passionately yearn for the fruitfulness promised in Revelation 22:1,2 – two trees on either side of the river which bear fruit monthly, and whose leaves are for the healing of the nations.
